4Great 'brewed tasting' coffee
By Elva Beacham
I love the concept of being able to steep my coffee grounds & get a good tasting cup of coffee. I'm not happy with the design that doesn't allow for good cleaning, removal of the coffee grounds and the stand-up button seems flimsy, concerning me that it won't have a long life before breaking off-hope I'm wrong.

3Kind of a rip-off
By Bradley Nelson
Ok, so the concept isn't so bad. Single-serving brew, right into your cup. It steeps in this contraption, then you push a button and it strains into your mug.But for $20, I'd expect something with some quality to it. This thing feels like it should cost $2.50. The lid does not fit snugly, so it seems a bit precarious. The button to release the liquid also feels cheap and chintzy. The thin plastic is not going to do much for heat retention either, so your drink will likely cool down a bit (granted it does have a lid, but we've already discussed that).I haven't seen any water leak from this yet, but I am anticipating that at any moment.Overall, it's useful and not a horrible idea, but there has to be a similar product out there that feels like less of a rip-off.

4The Good The Bad and the Ugly
By Spudman
The directions clearly warn not to depress the button or water will come out of the bottom of the Easy Brew. I got those directions backwards, deliberately depressed the button, and a generous pouring of water leaked out of the Cup's bottom and all over the counter top. My bad!For my next trip I made sure the bottom was sealed and poured in the hot water. On that trial I learned that filling up to the one cup mark doesn't make for a full mug of coffee. Subsequent trial and Error taught me that filling up to a quarter cup below the two cup mark works fine. I also learned that genuinely boiled water works better than almost boiled in the microwave water.Good - The Easy Brew should be easy to use for non-Potato Heads. Strength of the coffee is determined by time brewed in the Easy Cup. I like about three minutes. With the built in metal mesh, coffee grounds don't spill into the cup of coffee, at all.Not so good - After pouring the water, letting it stand, and then making the coffee, the temperature of the water is going to drop. To avoid lukewarm coffee, be sure to use boiling water and heat up the coffee mug ahead of time with hot water. The Bad - For me clean up is a pain. With well and septic, we don't have a garbage disposal, so I prefer not to pour coffee grinds down the drain. So far I've been taking the unit outside to rinse with water and pour most of the coffee bits out. The Easy Brew can be placed on the top rack of the dishwasher, but I finish the cleaning by hand with soap and water. The Ugly - There is no ugly unless you've seen my photo.Bottom Line - The Easy Brew can be a handy utensil in certain circumstances. I'll be bringing the little brewer with me on vacation, and may occasionally even use it at work. At home I occasionally want a single cup of decaf; the Single Cup Easy Brew will be my tool.NOTE - I also have a Melitta single cup brewer, a simple device that uses a paper filter. The Melitta is easier to clean (and cheaper) but the filter slows down the water flow so much that I almost always end up with lukewarm coffee that has to be reheated in the microwave.
