Great for Care Packages for Troops
By Michael Hickman
I received mine while in the field in Iraq.It then followed me all around the world with me and ALWAYS made me coffee.Anywhere I could get hot water, I had a cup of coffee. These are awesome to put in care packages for troops. We've heated water over our sternos and could have a cup of coffee in the middle of nowhere! These also work for loose leaf herbal teas. I am grateful for mine, and will never leave, nor forsake it! HOOAH~

the "greenest" coffee maker
By ellen
We began using this style coffee maker long before the Keurig became popular. We have no left over coffee in a pot, one drinks decaf and the other regular, and there is no solid waste created with every cup of coffee--no little pods, no filters. Add the used grounds to the compost bucket and rinse the gold filter. It's easy, quick, and "green."

A gem
By dori duz
The mesh filter is really fine; viewed from the bottom of the thing it's almost mirror-like. I grind my Kirkland roasted-by-Starbucks coffee beans as fine as I possibly can in my $15 Krups grinder; I find that, for my taste, less grounds are needed to make a cup of coffee. A level tablespoonful is just right, and if I want to drink it black. Heaping, if I feel like dumping creamer into my coffee. Compared to a similar contraption made by Bodum (which I can no longer find on the web), the Medelco seems to make a more intense brew, with less grounds. The wide mouth and take-apart design also makes it much easier to clean.
