Great coffee maker
By orion
I bought this to replace a cheap one-cup maker I bought from from one of those junk catalog. This one is very nice looking, it works ultra fast with automatic shut off and I can use my own larger mug instead of the cup which comes with it. If you use a huge mug you may need to add more water. I like the cord on the side. If it was on the back, you couldn't put it up against the wall. Makes no mess and works great!

Great Little Coffee Maker--for a year and a half
By Still Learning
Additional comment, 2009: My original review is below, but here's what happened eventually: The machine started to leak like crazy. It had a lifespan of about 18 months.Original review:I have no interest in pod-coffee (I roast my own beans), so that limited my choices when I decided to take my all-white-plastic Black and Decker one-cupper to the office, and spring for a better-looking pot for home. This stainless and black-plastic machine makes very good coffee indeed, looks terrific and cleans up quickly and beautifully. (I've used the white one for years and it looks dreadful at this point). I congratulate myself on this purchase. As for the amount it makes: a standard mug. I wouldn't want it any bigger. All my mugs fit into it and I prefer two fresh cups to one big stale one.I use unbleached No. 1 coffee filters (or cut down bigger ones if I can't find No.1s) instead of the permanent filter it came with because the paper picks up residual oil, is easy to clean up, and the used grounds all end up in the compost or trash, not down the drain.

Does what it's supposed to do...
By PM in NY
...which is make one 8 oz cup of coffee. There are ways to work around it tho, if you drink more coffee:1) You can go over the fill line and get about 14 oz of coffee, and I haven't had any bad experiences doing so yet. You have to stay close though, and do a cup switch, or the cup will overflow, since there's not enough space to hold a bigger cup than the one that comes with the coffeemaker.2)Dump the grinds and make another cup.3) The best so far, put extra coffee into the filter. When the first cup is done, pour the coffee into a bigger cup. Turn the machine back on and run more water through the same coffee grinds. When that's finished, put it into the bigger cup with the coffee you made before.4) Cut down on your coffee
